Dear members and supporters
We are delighted to tell you that the Music Futures Committee has kicked off our
programme for the year. We offer a unique programme of support for young
musicians in the Wellington region.
Award applications opened on Monday 26 February and will close on 1 April. You can
find the application link on our website: http://www.musicfutures.org.nz/
Please pass on this information to any school age young people (or their teacher)
who you think may benefit from one of our awards.
Key dates for your diary this year are:
8 May – Annual General Meeting, 6 pm at the NZSO Board Room
26 May – Wellington coaching weekend concert for chamber music groups, ACR
26 July – The Sound of Youth Music concert, 6 pm St Andrew’s on the Terrace
Your financial support is very important to us. While we receive some grant funding,
we really rely on people like you to assist with our programme. The TG McCarthy
Trust helps with our coaching programme in Wellington and Kapiti, although this
year we have received less from them than in previous years and less than we
requested. So, we would love your help for our 2024 programme.
It is time to pay your annual member subscription unless you joined in the second
half of 2023. In that case we’ll remind you later in the year. Membership costs $25
per year. You can also make a donation (tax deductible).
