What the recipients are saying:
From Dillon Nickel:
Thank you very much for the award I received from Music Futures. My music teacher Margaret has received the $200 that you awarded to me and she appreciates it very much. I also appreciate receiving the award very much because it contributes to the costs of my lessons. Thank you for considering me in this award. I do understand that there may have been a lot of applicants and it would have been a very difficult decision for you to make. I am privileged to be a recipient of this award. I am grateful for what I received. Thank you very much.
From Jack Hesp and Dan Ford:
My name is Jack Hesp and myself and Dan Ford were given a $200 scholarship for recording equipment. This has boosted our confidence, and next term we will be setting up a fundraiser at school. We are still fundraising for more money for the record set but Dan and I are planning to record a whole album by the end of the year. We can send you as many copies as you wish.
Thank you.
From Milo Phillips:
I would just like to thank you all so much for your valued contribution towards my international tour to Singapore and Malaysia with the New Zealand Secondary Schools Choir (NZSSC). Without your help, I would not have been able to follow my choirs journey as far as I have, or be part of such a personally enriching group of musicians. Not only is the choir a fantastic musical opportunity for all involved, but the family bond that developed during my time as part of it, has
helped to form what I hope to be life long friendships and musical connections. I cannot thank you enough for the roll you have played in this unforgettable musical experience.
From Lavinnia Rae:
I'd just like to thank the people behind the Music Futures for this award and let them know that it has gone towards my cello strings. I recently just broke my C String so it helped with the replacement of this and it is much appreciated.
From Edy and Bill Rae (Lavinia's parents):
You can see that we are, rather naturally, proud of our girls achievements but these would not have been possible without the financial and other, largely invisible, support from so many wonderful and selfless people. I again would like to acknowledge all those involved with Music Futures. We are truly grateful parents.
From Rhiannon Gwyther:
Thank you for giving me the money to support my musical study and commitments. The money has been used to pay the years subs for one of the orchestras I'm in - Wairarapa Concert Band. We are currently practising to go up to Hastings for a competition which I really look forward too. I know my Mum appreciates it too as there are a lot of expenses to pay for and this helps her too. Thanks for the financial award it has been much appreciated.
From Gian DomDom:
Thank you Music Futures for the $ 200 Financial Award which I used for my Trinity College London Guitar Grade 5 Examination last June 5, 2014. I am happy to inform you that I've the passed the examination with Merit. More power to you, Music Futures and your supporters. May you continue to help more young musicians achieve their dreams.
