2026 Award Application

Music Futures financial awards 2026
 
The applications for the 2026 Music Futures financial awards are now open. Please encourage all eligible students to apply.  Applications can be from individuals or from groups.
 
Eligibility criteria
  • The student (or group) would benefit from financial support in their music making (e.g. for music tuition, instrument repair, music purchase, participation in competitions, etc).
  • Aged 10-18
  • Still at school (or homeschooled).  University students are not eligible.
  • Living in the Greater Wellington region (Wellington City, Porirua, Hutt Valley, Kapiti Coast up to and including Otaki, Wairarapa up to and including Masterton.)
 
Applications close on 31 March 2026.  Awards will be notified early in Term 2.
 
Application process
  1. Please direct your students or their parents/caregivers to fill out the online application form through this link: Applicants form
 
  1. Applicants will ask you, their music teacher, to fill out a referee form. This is very important! Please fill out the referee form through this link: Referee form                     
 
Remember to press submit when you have completed the form.
 
You will need to fill out a separate form for each student, but you can use the same link each time.
 
Additional information
This year, in addition to our regular annual awards, we have 3 discretionary scholarships of up to $2,000 each to be awarded to young musicians who display exceptional promise and commitment. These scholarships have been made possible by a grant from the Lankhuyzen Whetu-Kairangi Masonic Trust.
